Cannabis Health Coach and Educator, business owner, and founder of the Women Empowered Cannabis Advocates Network (W.E.C.A.N.), Kirstie Chadsey, brings an upbeat, passionate, and collaboratively supportive approach to all she does in the cannabis industry and beyond.
While she moved around often when she was growing up, Kirstie now calls California home, and she conducts all of W.E.C.A.N.’s meetings from the west coast home she shares with her husband, four dogs, and hundreds of succulents.
Whether you’re new to Cannabis Business Networking or have been a part of W.E.C.A.N. from its start, Kirstie will no doubt share your excitement for your budding cannabis ventures and the canna-connections you create each time you join a meeting.
And where does that natural excitement come from?
A lifetime journey to cannabis, cannabis leadership, business growth, and a community that welcomes those with similar cannabis-infused goals and dreams.
Kirstie’s Journey to Cannabis
Kirstie was raised in a military brat life, the daughter of a Navy fighter pilot, moving from place to place so often that she continued to do so into her career life as well.
Kirstie experienced a barrage of traumatic experiences throughout her life and navigated severe recurring episodes of depression.
She also dealt with chronic pain that often accompanies recurring bouts of depression when the mind and body do their best to cope with all the episodes bring on.
These episodes left Kirstie searching for a better way to address her physical and mental pain.
As she continued to grow, learn, and heal from (and through) these experiences, she discovered that cannabis made a life-changing difference.
Kirstie was bedridden with that physical and mental pain when she welcomed cannabis into her world.
She had been on numerous prescription medications for decades and knew there had to be a better way. Her husband suggested cannabis, but the stigma delayed her acting on his insightful idea.
“To say that bringing cannabis into my life was life-changing would be an enormous understatement, and I will forever be grateful to my hubs for starting me on this journey.”
It was a great source of help while Kirstie was dealing with and processing her traumas and depression struggles. And it allowed her to arrive here, to a place where she shares about this journey to cannabis.
“I’m in the best place mentally and emotionally that I have ever been in my life, and it’s the biggest blessing in my life… and I have a lot of blessings!”
As a lifelong learner, Kirstie continues to educate herself so that she can teach, share, inspire, and empower others with what she finds helpful.
A Wealth of Experience in Business Building, Education, and Leadership.
Kirstie has over thirty-five years of successful experience in a variety of career paths. She’s owned two small businesses and worked for large corporations. Kirstie also managed and developed employees in several others.
Along the way, she became an excellent leader, team-builder, and impactful trainer whose ability to teach allows her to empower those she leads to garner the best possible results.
As the founder of W.E.C.A.N., Kirstie uses her decades of experience to lead, inspire, and motivate all members to reach the goals they hold closest to their hearts.
She candidly shares her wealth of life and work experience as she recognizes the value lived experience can bring to any growth conversation. And she’s passionate about empowering the women in her community to share their experiences for the very same reason.
Kirstie is the president of the BNI (Business Networking International Cutting Edge Chapter, in San Ramon, California, and has served as the Education Coordinator, Visitor Host, and Secretary-Treasurer in years past.
She is also the Director of Business Development at Bay Area Printer, James Allyn Printing, Mailing & Fulfillment.
What drives Kirstie’s passion for networking?
Kirstie is a leader, a mixed-media artist, a tender-hearted woman, and a creative soul with a rebellious spirit.
While her early family life left her feeling alone and invisible in her own home, Kirstie found that she could delve into her imagination, listen to music, and find her happy place within.
As she grew, Kirstie recognized her deep desire to connect with others, and that led her to create families or tribes where she could connect with others to both be able to give as well as receive support and encouragement.
Building a Cannabis Community of her own.
While her first several years of cannabis use found Kirstie navigating the frustrating and sometimes overwhelming learning curve that comes with trial-and-error cannabis approaches, she would later recognize how valuable it would have been to experience the guidance and support of a cannabis coach as she tried to navigate her way.
This realization lit a fire deep within Kirstie’s soul.
“I now want to share my story… my journey… my healing… to help others on their journey to what I like to call ‘My Cannabliss Life.’ My tribe and I are doing all we can to help educate as many souls as we can on the medicinal benefits of this plant medicine. Together we will help to change the bullshit stigma that is attached to it. And I would love to be one of your guides on the path to wellness with cannabis.”
She began to turn her creative, eternal student mind toward learning all she could about this magical medicinal plant that had helped her lift herself from the depths of her severe recurring depression and chronic physical pain.
Kirstie became a Certified Cannabis Health Coach and Educator in 2021 at the Cannabis Coaching Institute.
And then another fire ignited within her — she desperately wanted to keep her newfound tribe together.
And so she began her little dream of W.E.C.A.N. in the spring of 2022.
